Prefab Spawner
The Point-Stamper. Places prefabs at explicit coordinates provided by a Point List channel. Unlike the Stamper, this node does not modify the tile logic (footprints) and is used for non-structural decorations.
Ports
| Port | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Points | Point List | The list of coordinates where prefabs will be spawned. |
| Output | Placements | The generated list of prefab instances. |
Details
The Prefab Spawner is typically connected to nodes like Poisson Disk or Random Points. It picks one of its configured variants and places it at every coordinate in the input list.
Parameters
- Prefab Variants: A list of Prefab Assets and their relative weights. If multiple variants are provided, the node will randomly pick between them for each point.
Potential Use Cases
- Scattered Debris: Use a Random Points node (filtered to a "Dungeon Floor" mask) to generate 50 points, then use Prefab Spawner to place "Broken Glass" and "Dust Piles."
- Wall Torches: Use a Mask to Points node to find all "Wall" tiles adjacent to "Floor" tiles, then use Prefab Spawner to place "Torch" prefabs at those locations.
- NPC Spawning: Use explicit Seeds to define spawn locations for "Enemy Slimes" or "Quest NPCs."
